The rise in Thomas Cook’s share price is linked to the launch of ‘Sterling Govardhana Malampuzha,’ a new resort in Kerala. This resort is targeted towards families, couples, and travelers seeking short stays in a beautiful natural setting.

This new destination, located near Palakkad and Coimbatore, is designed to be easily accessible and offers a blend of nature, local culture, and the familiar comfort of the Sterling brand. It’s part of a larger strategy to connect travelers to a wider range of experiences in South India.

Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director and CEO, explained that this resort is creating a “new travel node” by linking different markets. The goal is to turn less-known places into popular destinations, especially for those traveling from Tamil Nadu, Central Kerala, and the Nilgiris.

The Sterling Govardhana Malampuzha resort offers many amenities, including easy access to other Sterling resorts, stunning views of the Sahyadri hills, and a focus on local ingredients. Guests can enjoy activities like riding a ropeway, exploring rock gardens, and attending cultural performances.

With this addition, Sterling now manages a wide network of resorts in Kerala, including destinations like Athirappilly, Anaikatti, Alleppey, Wayanad, Munnar, Guruvayur, and Thekkady. This expansion supports their “destinations beyond the obvious” campaign, offering unique travel experiences.

“Malampuzha has always been a symbol of Kerala’s natural beauty and community spirit,” said M. Satheesan. “Our partnership with Sterling is founded on the belief that design-led hospitality can spotlight such destinations responsibly while enriching local livelihoods.”
