Tata Steel Production and Deliveries Analyzed

Tata Steel had a really strong quarter! They made a lot more steel than ever before, and shipped it out to customers all over the world. This is good news because it means they’re growing and building more things. Let’s break down exactly what happened with their production and deliveries across different countries and product types.

Key Points

  • India’s steel production increased by 12% compared to last quarter and last year.
  • Deliveries hit a record 6 million tons for the first time in India.
  • Automotive products saw a 20% jump in volume due to faster approvals.
  • Branded products (like Tata Tiscon) exceeded 2 million tons for the first time.
  • Industrial products, including Engineering, reached record 9M volumes.
  • E-commerce sales rose 68% year-over-year, totaling Rs 2,380 crore.

India Performance

Tata Steel India was the star of the show. They produced a record-breaking 6.34 million tons of steel – that’s 12% more than last quarter and 14% more than last year! This was thanks to their factories in Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar working really hard.

They also delivered a record 6 million tons of steel, which is the most they’ve ever delivered in one quarter. They sold more steel to builders, car makers, and other companies in India.

Some specific parts of their business did amazing. The ‘Automotive & Special Products’ group made 0.9 million tons of steel – that’s the highest they’ve ever made! This was because many companies quickly approved their strong steel for making cars and other products.

The ‘Branded Products & Retail’ group also did very well, selling over 2 million tons of steel through well-known brands like Tata Tiscon.

Finally, the ‘Industrial Products & Projects’ group made 1.9 million tons of steel, boosted by parts like Engineering, which got important approvals for making steel for oil and gas and ships.

International Operations

Tata Steel Netherlands produced 1.68 million tons of steel. However, deliveries were lower because of changes in the market.

Tata Steel UK is now making steel from other companies’ scrap metal. They delivered 0.52 million tons of steel this quarter.

Tata Steel Thailand made 0.31 million tons of steel and delivered 0.29 million tons, driven by strong sales of rebar (a type of steel used for building).

E-Commerce

Tata Steel’s online stores, Tata Aashiyana and DigECA, did very well, selling steel for Rs 2,380 crore – that’s 68% more than last year. This shows people are buying steel online!

The company is still working on making its steel products even better and selling them through online channels.

Strong steel production and deliveries demonstrate Tata Steel’s growing market presence and future potential.
