What Happened with SpiceJet Shares?

On December 9, 2025, SpiceJet’s stock price jumped, even though the overall stock market was going down. The price went up by 7.66% to reach ₹34.99. Later, it settled at ₹34.32, still higher than before.

This increase was mostly because SpiceJet announced it was getting two new Boeing 737 airplanes. These planes started flying on popular routes like Delhi to Bangkok and Ahmedabad to Dubai.

SpiceJet said they were doing this to offer more travel choices, especially during the busy travel season. They are also working hard to make flights more reliable and handle more passengers.

SpiceJet’s Financial Results

Despite the increased travel, SpiceJet still had a loss of ₹447.70 crore in the quarter that ended in September 2025. This is much higher than the ₹424.26 crore loss from the previous year. Several things caused this loss, including trouble paying off future debts, repairs for planes that couldn’t fly, and extra spending to get planes back in service.

Also, there were restrictions on air travel that made things even harder and more expensive. However, the airline boosted its finances by paying off debts and securing money to fix planes.

Growing Their Fleet

SpiceJet was busy getting more planes. They signed deals to lease 19 aircraft, and they’re slowly bringing back planes that were out of service. This will help them fly to more places and grow their business.

SpiceJet’s Focus

SpiceJet is a popular low-cost airline in India. It connects many cities and even some international destinations. They are part of a program called UDAN, which helps make air travel easier and more affordable. They are also trying to get newer, more modern planes.

“By expanding our fleet and routes, we are committed to providing a reliable and affordable travel experience for our passengers.” – Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet.
