Currently, Maruti Suzuki makes around 26 lakh cars each year. They already have factories in places like Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur. This includes the old Suzuki plant that was combined with the company.
However, all of this production is being fully used! Because of this, they need to build a new factory to make even more cars. They’ve decided to buy land in Khoraj Industrial Estate in Gujarat.
The company estimates that this new factory will add up to 1 million cars to their yearly production. The board has officially approved spending about Rs 4,960 crore (that’s roughly $600 million) to buy the land, build the factory, and get everything ready to start producing.
This investment is crucial for Maruti Suzuki to maintain its leading position in the Indian automotive market.
