KEC International’s Growth Analyzed
KEC International, a major player in building power systems, saw its stock price jump 2.15% to reach Rs 706.50. This increase follows the announcement of substantial new orders totaling Rs 1,150 crore within India. These orders cover a diverse range of projects, highlighting the company’s expanding capabilities.
- Significant order intake: Rs 1,150 crore in new contracts secured.
- Major win: Largest-ever T&D order from a private player.
- Transmission line & substation: 765 kV project executed LSTK.
- Civil business expands: 150 MW thermal plant project added.
- Record order intake: YTD surpasses Rs 18,000 crore.
- Strong financial performance: Net profit up 88.21% to Rs 160.75 crore.
The company’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business received a particularly large order from a private company. This included the complete design, construction, and commissioning of a 765-kilovolt transmission line, alongside a 765/400-kilovolt air-insulated substation. This “lump-sum turnkey” (LSTK) approach means KEC International handles everything from start to finish.
KEC International’s Civil business also secured a contract to add additional civil and structural work to a 150-megawatt thermal power plant. This demonstrates the company’s versatility and its ability to work on a broad variety of projects.
Vimal Kejriwal, the Managing Director & CEO of KEC International, expressed his satisfaction with these wins. He noted a significant increase in the number of private sector clients placing orders with their India T&D business. This growth reinforces their confidence in future expansion.
Adding to the positive momentum, KEC International’s total order intake for the year has surpassed Rs 17,000 crore – an increase of approximately 17% compared to the previous year. This substantial order book provides a solid foundation for continued growth.
KEC International operates globally, providing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services across power transmission and distribution, civil infrastructure, transportation, renewable energy, oil and gas pipelines, and cables. The company’s size and scope demonstrate its crucial role in modern infrastructure development.
“These order wins highlight KEC International’s strategic focus and its position as a leading EPC player globally.”
