IT Ice-Hockey Rink Project Analyzed

ITI has been given a big job: building an ice hockey rink in Kaza, a really high-up town in the Himalayas. The project costs Rs. 72.76 crore (that’s a lot of money!). The local government, through the Deputy Commissioner, approved this to create a great place for hockey and other sports.

Key Points

  • Rs. 72.76 crore investment for the Kaza Ice Hockey Rink.
  • ITI will build the rink, solar power backup, and security systems.
  • Project supports sports development and youth engagement in Spiti Valley.
  • Rink will be at approximately 12,000 feet altitude, challenging the facility.
  • Enhances local sports tourism potential within Lahaul & Spiti district.
  • Part of larger initiative to improve high-altitude sports infrastructure.

About the Project

The ice hockey rink will be built in Kaza, a town in the Lahaul & Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. ITI, a company that does big construction jobs, has been chosen to do this. They’ll build more than just the rink; they’ll also add solar panels to provide power and install security cameras and lighting.

This rink is part of a bigger plan to make the Spiti Valley a fantastic place for sports. The goal is to give young people in the area more chances to play sports, and even to attract tourists who want to experience sports in a beautiful, remote location.

The area is very high up, about 12,000 feet above sea level, making it a challenging environment for the facility.

Investing in sports infrastructure unlocks opportunities for communities and promotes active lifestyles.
