ICICI Securities Analyzes ITC Hotels

ICICI Securities, a financial analysis firm, has given ITC Hotels a “Buy” rating, meaning they believe the stock will likely increase in value. They set a target price of ₹250, suggesting the stock could go up by 21% from its current price. This positive outlook is based on several factors, signaling a potentially good investment opportunity.

Key Points

  • ICICI Securities recommends buying ITC Hotels stock for future growth.
  • Target price of ₹250 indicates a 21% potential price increase.
  • Strong expansion plans: Adding over 20,000 hotel rooms by 2030.
  • Expected revenue growth: 12% CAGR over the next 8 years.
  • Improved profitability: Ebitda margins set to reach 37% by 2028.
  • Potential risks include slow occupancy rates and project delays.

ITC Hotels is expanding its business significantly. They plan to increase the number of rooms they offer from about 13,600 to more than 20,000 by the year 2030. This growth is being driven by a strategy called “asset-right” expansion, which means building hotels where they’re most needed.

The company has a large cash reserve of nearly ₹1,700 crore, giving them the money to build new hotels. They are currently developing three new hotels: one in Puri with 118 rooms, another in Bhubaneshwar with over 100 rooms, and a third in Visakhapatnam with 200 rooms. These projects are expected to open in 2028 and 2030 respectively.

ICICI Securities predicts that the revenue per room (RevPAR) will grow by 9% over the next eight years. They also expect management fees to rise by 17% during the same period, which will boost their income. Overall, they anticipate that ITC Hotels will see its revenue and profits increase significantly in the coming years.

However, the analysis also highlights potential risks. If hotel occupancy rates or room prices don’t go up as expected, or if the new hotel projects are delayed, it could negatively impact the company’s performance.

“Investing in ITC Hotels represents a considered bet on its strategic growth and ambitious expansion plans.”
