ICICI Prudential AMC IPO Analyzed

The ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company IPO is expected to list on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on December 19, 2025. Investors are watching closely as grey market signals suggest a strong debut. The company raised a significant ₹10,602.65 crore through a sale of shares that weren’t previously available to the public.

Key Points

  • IPO raised ₹10,602.65 crore, entirely through share sales.
  • Grey market signals predict a listing price around ₹2,565.
  • Expected gains for investors could be almost 18%.
  • The IPO was heavily oversubscribed by institutional and retail investors.
  • The IPO was entirely an “Offer-for-Sale” (OFS) with no proceeds for ICICI Prudential AMC.
  • Grey market premiums are unofficial and unreliable for future price predictions.

The IPO involved selling up to 48,972,994 equity shares. The company decided to price the shares between ₹2,061 and ₹2,165 per share. A lot size of six shares was required for investment.

Investors showed great interest, with the offering being oversubscribed 39.17 times overall. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) were particularly enthusiastic, subscribing 123.87 times, followed by Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) at 22.04 times and Retail Investors at 2.53 times. This strong demand resulted in the issue price being set at ₹2,165 per share.

The final decision on who gets to buy the shares – the allotment – was made on December 17, 2025. It’s important to note that since the IPO was entirely an Offer-for-Sale (OFS), ICICI Prudential AMC itself won’t receive any money from the sale of these shares. Instead, the money will go directly to the company’s parent company, Prudential Corporation Holdings, after accounting for expenses and taxes.

Kfin Technologies is responsible for managing the IPO process, and a team of banks, including Citigroup, ICICI Securities, and Morgan Stanley, worked together to bring the IPO to market.

“Understanding grey market signals provides a snapshot of investor sentiment, but doesn’t guarantee the actual listing price.”
