Great Eastern Shipping (GES) has recently added a new ship to its fleet. They received a 2016-built cargo carrier named Jag Anjali. This ship is quite large, holding about 81,922 “dwt” – that’s a measurement of how much cargo it can carry.

Fleet Breakdown

GES already owns a big fleet. As of now, they operate 40 ships. This includes 26 tankers – some are designed to carry crude oil, others carry refined products, and some carry liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

They also have 14 dry bulk carriers. These ships are used to transport large quantities of raw materials like iron ore, coal, and grain around the world.

Financing the New Ship

What’s interesting is that GES paid for the Jag Anjali entirely with money they had saved up themselves. This is called “internal accruals.”
