GK Energy’s Expansion in Maharashtra Solar Water Pumping Analyzed
GK Energy has been given a new job by Maharashtra’s electricity company. They’re going to install 10,000 solar-powered water pumps across the entire state of Maharashtra. These pumps will help farmers get water for their crops, using sunlight instead of electricity from the grid.
Key Points
- 10,000 solar pumps to be installed in Maharashtra.
- Pumps will range from 3 to 7.5 horsepower.
- Project value: Rs. 254.30 Crores (before GST).
- Total value with GST: Rs. 276.93 crore.
- Installation deadline: 60 days from work order.
- Tender quantity affects the number of pumps.
The Details
The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) hired GK Energy to do this. They need 10,000 solar pumps. These pumps come in different sizes – 3 horsepower, 5 horsepower, and 7.5 horsepower – to fit different farming needs.
The whole project is worth about 254.30 crore rupees. When you include taxes (GST), the total cost goes up to 276.93 crore rupees. GK Energy has 60 days to finish setting up all the pumps after they get the official instructions.
Important Notes
MSEDCL has a special rule for GK Energy. If they successfully install 1,00,000 pumps in a competition (called a ‘tender’), the remaining pumps won’t be needed and GK Energy won’t have to install them.
This means MSEDCL is starting with a big plan, but they’ll only order more pumps if they’re successful with the first batch. This helps make sure they don’t over-order and waste money.
Investing in solar-powered irrigation offers a sustainable path for agricultural growth.
