Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Growth Analyzed

Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels saw a positive jump of 3.71% to Rs 137 after announcing a major expansion plan in Kerala. This plan involves purchasing several new hotels and resorts, significantly boosting their portfolio. The company’s strategic moves aim to increase its market presence and drive future growth.

Key Points

  • New hotel assets in Kerala secured, expanding Apeejay’s portfolio.
  • Two companies, THALI Hotels & Destinations & Fishermans Grove Resorts acquired.
  • ‘Purity’ lakefront property and ‘Discovery’ houseboat included in purchase.
  • ‘The Malabar House’ in Fort Kochi acquired through lease & share deal.
  • Financial results affected, but revenue grew 16.83% in Q2 FY26.
  • Strategic investments target increased hotel ownership and consolidated revenue.

The core of this expansion involves buying two existing companies: THALI Hotels and Destinations, and Fishermans Grove Resorts. This immediately gives Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels full control over ‘Purity,’ a beautiful lakefront property, and ‘Discovery,’ a luxurious houseboat. These additions are central to their growth strategy.

Furthermore, the company is acquiring ‘The Malabar House’ located in the historic Fort Kochi area of Kerala. They’ve done this through a two-part agreement. Firstly, they’ve signed a lease with Cochin Residency (CRPL), which owns the hotel building itself. Secondly, they’ve bought a significant stake – at least 90.96%, and have the option to buy it all (100%) – in CRPL.

The acquisition of ‘The Malabar House’ is particularly exciting because it’s located on freehold land, meaning Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels owns the land itself, along with everything on it—furniture, fixtures, and all the associated amenities. Once these deals are complete, the profits and losses of these new properties will become part of the company’s overall financial reporting.

Despite a 16.83% increase in revenue to Rs 165.39 crore, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels’ consolidated net profit decreased by 39.44% to Rs 16.20 crore during Q2 FY26. This highlights the importance of managing costs alongside revenue growth.

Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels primarily operates The Park Hotels, The Park Collection, and Zone by The Park. These brands are known for providing comfortable and stylish accommodations.

“These strategic acquisitions demonstrate Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels’ commitment to continued expansion and market leadership within the Indian hospitality sector.”
