The company’s Utility Vehicles segment performed particularly well, with domestic sales reaching 56,336 units – a 22% growth. They also sold 57,598 utility vehicles worldwide, including exports. This success is largely attributed to a positive outlook among farmers.
Commercial Vehicle sales increased by 17% to 24,843 units. This growth indicates continued demand in the transportation sector. The Farm Equipment Business saw a massive jump in tractor sales, up 32% to 44,048 units compared to the same month last year.
Key factors driving this growth include the positive mood among farmers due to record harvests and increased planting of winter crops (the ‘rabi’ season). The government’s changes to taxes and the increased price paid for crops are also helping farmers get more money.
Mahindra’s overall financial results were impressive. Net profit rose 17.7% to Rs 4,520.52 crore, and revenue jumped 21.3% to Rs 33,421.60 crore. The company’s stock price decreased slightly, trading at Rs 3752.30 on the BSE.
Mahindra’s strong sales demonstrate the resilience and potential within India’s agricultural and transportation sectors.
