The Indian government has collected a significant amount of money and spent it wisely so far in the 2025-26 financial year. They’ve brought in ₹18,00,475 crore – that’s almost half of what they planned to get! This money came from different sources like taxes, other government income, and borrowing.

  • ₹18 Billion Collected: Government received ₹18,00,475 crore.
  • Tax Revenue Dominates: ₹12.7 Billion from taxes to the central government.
  • State Transfers Up: ₹112 Billion more to state governments this year.
  • Expenditure Reached: ₹26.3 Billion spent on various government programs.
  • Revenue Spending High: ₹20.1 Billion spent on regular expenses.
  • Capital Spending Key: ₹6.2 Billion invested in big projects.

Specifically, ₹12.7 billion came directly from taxes that the central government gets. Another ₹4.9 billion came from other income the government earned. And ₹3.7 billion came from borrowing money.

The government has also spent a lot of this money. A whopping ₹26.3 billion has been spent so far on things like schools, hospitals, and roads. About ₹20.1 billion of that was used for everyday expenses, and the rest – ₹6.2 billion – was spent on building and upgrading big projects like dams and airports.

Of the money spent on big projects, ₹6.7 billion was used to pay back money the government owed, and ₹2.5 billion went to help businesses and farmers with subsidies. This shows the government is managing its finances carefully to support both the economy and its citizens.

The Indian government’s revenue and spending are closely monitored to ensure financial stability.
