Ceigall’s Velgaon GIS Project Analyzed

Ceigall India has gotten a formal agreement – a Letter of Intent – from REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) to build a large electrical substation in Velgaon, Maharashtra. This substation will handle high-voltage electricity and is a really important step for Ceigall’s future. The project will take about two years to finish, and then Ceigall will maintain it for 35 years.

  • Ceigall secured a deal with REC Power for a new substation.
  • The project is a 400/220 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS).
  • Construction will take approximately two years for completion.
  • Annuity payments total Rs 58.5 crore for 35 years.
  • This creates a stable income stream for the company.
  • Ceigall aims to become a long-term infrastructure provider.

This isn’t just about building something; it’s about making a plan for the long term. The agreement includes a steady income – called an “annuity” – for 35 years. This means Ceigall will get regular payments as long as they maintain the substation.

The total cost of building the substation is roughly Rs 450 crore. But, over the next 35 years, Ceigall will earn around Rs 58.5 crore each year. This provides a very strong and predictable source of income.

Because of this project, Ceigall is showing they can do more than just build things quickly. They are focusing on creating long-term investments in power infrastructure, making them a more reliable and sustainable company. This also gives them a steady cash flow, which helps with planning for the future.

Building this substation shows Ceigall’s commitment to building a future in power transmission.
