The tablets, known as Calan SR Extended-Release Tablets, are made by Zydus Lifesciences. They come in doses of 120 mg, 180 mg, and 240 mg. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has officially said these tablets are safe and effective.

Production of the Verapamil tablets will happen at Zydus Lifesciences’ factory in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India. This means the company is ready to start selling these tablets to doctors and pharmacies across the United States.

The company previously reported that these Verapamil tablets had already sold for around $24.5 million in the United States during the months of September through November of 2025. This shows there’s already a demand for this medication.
