Magellanic Cloud’s CCTV Project Analyzed

Magellanic Cloud, a company specializing in security systems, has secured a major contract with Central Railway. This contract, worth around Rs 3.61 crore, focuses on upgrading the railway’s security with new CCTV surveillance systems. The project will significantly improve safety at train crossings.

Key Points

  • Rs 3.61 crore project secures enhanced railway safety.
  • CCTV systems installed at Level Crossing gates.
  • RDSO-compliant cameras deliver high-resolution video footage.
  • Full system integration: cameras, NVRs, and infrastructure included.
  • Central Railway (NGP Division) receives upgraded surveillance.
  • Comprehensive maintenance ensures ongoing system functionality.

Project Details

The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) was awarded to Magellanic Cloud’s subsidiary, Provigil Surveillance. This LoA signifies the start of a detailed project. The work will be carried out within the Narkher-Chandur Bazar section of the Nagpur Division.

The project’s scope includes a complete package. It’s not just about installing cameras; everything is included. This includes providing high-definition (Full HD) IP CCTV cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), and the necessary power and communication equipment.

Crucially, the systems must meet standards set by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO). They will be integrated with existing infrastructure, along with necessary civil and electrical works. This ensures the system works smoothly and efficiently.

The CCTV systems will specifically be placed at manned, non-interlocked Level Crossing (LC) gates. This targeted deployment is designed to enhance safety at these critical points. The goal is to monitor train movements and prevent accidents.

The contract includes ongoing maintenance. This guarantees the CCTV systems will continue to operate correctly for the long term. Consistent maintenance is a key part of the project’s success.

Ultimately, this project represents a strategic investment in railway safety and security.
