What Happened in December 2025?
Lots of different types of trucks sold well. Heavy trucks (the big ones) saw a big jump – up 31%. Intermediate, light, and medium trucks also sold a lot more, increasing by 40%. Passenger carriers, like buses, went up by just 1%, but pickup trucks and cargo trucks had a big boost of 19%.
Company-Wide Growth
Tata Motors’ total sales increased by 21% for the whole of Q3 of their fiscal year 2026 (FY26), reaching 1,15,577 units. This is a significant improvement compared to Q3 FY25 where they sold 95,770 units. The company’s leadership believes this growth is due to a few important things.
Reasons for the Success
Girish Wagh, the head of Tata Motors, said that things like a new tax system (called GST 2.0) and a busy holiday season (Q2FY26) helped boost sales. Construction and mining are getting back to normal after the rainy season, and businesses are moving goods more efficiently. The company is also selling a lot of smaller trucks (SCVs and pickups), which is helping them grow even more.
