Understanding the Launch
Hyundai India has entered the commercial taxi market with the “Prime” range – the Prime HB and Prime SD. These taxis are specifically made for people who run taxi businesses, like fleet owners and independent drivers. Hyundai believes they will be successful because of the brand’s reputation for good quality, easy maintenance, and comfortable rides, all while helping drivers make more money.
The key technology behind these taxis is a 1.2-liter engine. This engine can run on either gasoline (petrol) or compressed natural gas (CNG). Using CNG is cheaper than petrol, so drivers can save money on fuel.
The Prime HB starts at Rs 5,99,900 and the Prime SD at Rs 6,89,900. This makes them a reasonably priced option for businesses wanting to buy taxis. Customers can put down a small deposit of Rs 5,000 at any Hyundai dealership to reserve their taxi.
Hyundai’s Prime Taxi Range is a strategic move to capitalize on India’s growing commercial mobility sector.
