Project Details

The specific job L&T is doing is part of Package CA-298 awarded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This package focuses on the electrification of a 24.72-kilometer stretch of Line 4 of the Mumbai Metro. The line runs from Bhakti Park (Wadala) to Cadbury junction and includes 22 elevated stations.

L&T will be responsible for designing, building, and installing the electrical systems needed for the metro. This includes the power supply and the systems that allow the trains to run. They’ll also build a control system to manage the entire line.

The work extends to the physical stations and depots, too. L&T will install lifts, escalators, and electrical equipment for all 22 elevated stations and the two depots. Furthermore, they will provide a comprehensive maintenance plan lasting five years.

This isn’t L&T’s first involvement in this metro project. They previously won contracts for Package CA-234 and Package CA-168, demonstrating their growing expertise in the Mumbai Metro Line 4&4A corridor.
