The deal starts with the purchase of the 125-bed People Tree Hospital. This includes the building and an adjacent 0.8-acre land. Fortis sees opportunities to grow the hospital’s services and add more beds, aiming for a total of over 1,500 beds across seven facilities in Bengaluru within three years.
Fortis already operates 900 beds in Bengaluru and this expansion will greatly increase that number. The company is planning further investments of around Rs 410 crore. This money will be used to upgrade medical equipment and introduce new healthcare programs, such as radiation oncology.
People Tree Hospital is already a well-regarded facility, accredited by NABH, and it provides a wide range of medical services. This includes specialized care in areas like cardiology, orthopedics, neurology, and renal science. Fortis believes they can improve how efficiently the hospital uses its resources and increase its profits as it grows.
Fortis Healthcare is a major healthcare provider in India, operating hospitals, diagnostic centers, and day-care facilities across multiple states. Their financial performance has been strong, with net profit rising by 82.43% in Q2 September 2025 compared to the same period last year.
