Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works’ Second Order Analyzed
Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works (KMEW) has secured a new contract worth Rs 10.66 crore from the New Mangalore Port Authority. This is their second order for providing security patrol boat services. KMEW will operate a specialized boat, ensuring the safety of the port and its operations.
Key Points
- KMEW won a ₹10.66 crore port security contract.
- Operates a River Sea Vessel (RSV) Type IV patrol boat.
- Five-year contract focused on port water security.
- KMEW builds boats internally, reducing costs & speeding delivery.
- Boosts port security & efficient port operations currently.
- Company’s success demonstrates commitment to reliability and growth.
The project involves using a River Sea Vessel (RSV) Type IV Security Patrol Boat. KMEW will handle all the staff needed for the boat, except for the fuel. This boat will be specifically used to patrol and watch over the water around the New Mangalore Port.
KMEW is building this boat themselves to keep costs down and make sure it’s ready quickly. This helps them offer better services and potentially expand to other ports, like Mumbai.
Sujay Kewalramani, the CEO of KMEW, is happy about this win. He says it shows KMEW is a key part of India’s port security and that the government is working to make ports run better.
KMEW does more than just patrol boats. They also do dredging (moving sand and mud), own and operate boats, and fix up boats and port structures. Their headquarters are in Mumbai, and they have offices in other important ports across India and Myanmar.
Recently, KMEW’s profits went down a little. Their net profit decreased by 10.09% and their revenue went down by 4.4% in the last quarter. Despite these figures, the company’s stock price remained relatively stable.
“This achievement highlights our commitment to securing India’s vital maritime infrastructure for years to come.”
